Pokemon Japan has just confirmed an exciting new card expansion called Black Bolt and White Flare , set in the Unova region. This announcement has fans excited as it could be related to a future remake of the fifth generation of Pokemon. 🔥⚡
What can we expect from this expansion?
- Double sets: The sets will include cards from all 155 Unova Pokémon , featuring the legendary Reshiram and Zekrom .
- Holographic Cards: As with the Pokémon 151 expansion, cards with reflected holography, or what we know as reverse holos in English, will be included.
Additionally, on June 5th , a Black Bolt & White Flare Token Set will be released, which will include an exclusive folder, a Victini promotional card, and Boosters from the new expansion. 📅🎴

There are currently no clear signs that Pokémon is planning a set based on Kalos or the legendary Zygarde , which could be protagonists of an expansion related to Pokémon X and Y , in the first half of 2025. This creates even more mystery, as normally the card market reflects and complements video game releases, but the focus seems to be on the Unova region.
Maybe Gamefreak will release the remakes from Pokemon Black and White in summer and then Legends: ZA in the fall? Of course, this is speculation.
