Pokémon Chrome Series 1, produced by Topps in 2000, is a set of 78 cards depicting the first 78 Pokémon. Unlike regular cards, these are easily distinguished by the Topps Chrome logo on the front and back, as well as their noticeable embossing and thickness. The set includes not only the standard Chrome base, but also three randomly inserted special variants:

• Spectra-Chrome, 1:2 per envelope.
• Sparkle-Chrome, 1:10 per envelope.
• Tekno-Chrome, 1:15 per sachet.
